Will 2018 be better than 2017?
Luckily, 2017 had many instances, which served as a warning to organizations, especially the ones that paid no interest to application security. Gartner predicted that the amount spent towards information security will rise in 2018. Other industry experts and individuals also indicate that security is extremely important.
Organizations were developing software, conducting security-related tests, and deploying software as independent activities. However, Continuous Integration (CI) tools are changing this methodology. Development and security practices must go hand-in-hand. Continuity in development and evaluation is mandatory. If the codes are reviewed in development and the deployment stage continuously and effectively, application security will be evaluated and security breaches will be curbed appropriately.
While speeding up software development, DevOps framework, and containerized production environments are picking up, remember that application security stands above all and decides the rise or fall of your application.
